National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale’s birthday. These permanent dates enhance planning and position National Nurses Week as an established recognition event. As of 1998, May 8 was designated as National Student Nurses Day, to be celebrated annually. And as of 2003, National School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week (May 6-12) each year. The nursing profession has been supported and promoted by the American Nurses Association (ANA) since 1896.
Kim Chase is the interim Director of Wellness for Kingsland Walk. The residents love her and when they speak to her, they feel a sense of calm and understanding for their concerns, knowing their needs will be addressed. Kim is good about tackling the concern as soon as it is addressed to her.
When speaking to residents, consistency with staff is important to them. When it comes to the wellness team, they want familiar faces with consistent schedules. They are an awesome team that always smiles and puts the residents first.
The wellness team stepped up to support the community throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kim has continued by being a champion on administering COVID tests to employees and residents.
We are going to honor National Nurses Week at Kingsland Walk Senior Living University City, MO by recognizing Kim with a special gift of appreciation.
