Kingsland Walk Senior Living Plant Operations Allows No Slip Ups With Building Safety

Building Safety Month takes place in May every year and is internationally recognized for raising awareness in keeping buildings safe. 

This initiative unites industries, associations, academia, and government under a common goal to protect the public by creating a safe and resilient environment. Our primary focus as the Plant Operations Team at Kingsland Walk Senior Living University City, MO is keeping our residents, visitors, and staff safe.

There are certain tasks that I perform regularly to safeguard our community. I am constantly checking that emergency lighting and emergency exit signs are working properly. I also routinely check access controls on our doors, as well as properly functioning egress capabilities.

I see my role as Plant Operations Director being the person responsible for ensuring that all of our building safety devices are functioning properly, so that when and if an emergency should arise, we will be as prepared as possible. I am most proud of my monthly fire drill training. I know this is very important for life safety and the more prepared my staff can be, the safer I know my residents will be.
